Shoring

Shoring

The shoring systems are used for retaining and stabilizing the limit of vertical excavations when the construction of new structures and avoid the impact of those excavations on existent buildings or other nearby structures.

SITE Canada offer Design Build solution for the following shoring systems

Soldier Pile & Lagging

Combining the installation of soldier piles, usually steel shapes, with wood lagging between the soldier piles. Depending of the depth of excavation the shoring needs to be stabilized by temporary tie backs.

This type of shoring system should be used when the water table level is in an elevation below the
bottom shoring excavation.

Secant Micropile Wall

The installation of a Micropile Wall system is an alternative to soldier pile and lagging and is recommended when in the presence of weak soil whit sliding risk o can slide during the excavation and the wood lagging installation. With the installation of a micropile wall this risk doesn’t exist.

The micropile type used on this system is a HSS section with spacing and diameter according to the earth lateral pressure applied stabilized with temporary tiebacks.

When a watertight solution is needed the micropile wall can be made secant using cement grouted micropiles to fill the void due to the spacing between the structural micropiles.
